Company News April 23, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for doing a great job over the past year. We have all been faced with unusual challenges and you have been tenacious in carrying out your professional duties, gracious and kind with our clients, and patient with us while we navigated through the consequences of the pandemic.

In January, 2021 many of you participated in our employee feedback survey and provided us with valuable information. Your positive feedback regarding your work culture, learning and development opportunities, physical work environment and the overall positive attitude of our employees is very much appreciated. We took serious consideration regarding the concerns you expressed about resources and compensation and have been working diligently on the following:

  • During 2021 our plan is to replace all front-line vehicles in our fleet. These have been ordered and are in production at this time. We are also in the process of replacing monitors and cots.
  • Performance reviews have been completed and a thorough compensation review conducted. As you know, the pay rates for EMTs and Paramedics have been increased to keep us very competitive which is assisting with recruitment efforts throughout Ohio.
  • We have continued to expand our base locations in Ohio and now have nine locations: Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Elyria, Mansfield, Toledo, Westlake, and Youngstown. You are welcome to request a transfer to any of our locations where we have openings that you are qualified for.

Our front-line management team has been restructured to ensure adequate oversite.

Daniel Marshall, EMTP, EMS Manager will continue to oversee Brooklyn, Westlake, Elyria and Toledo and be our main contact with our Medical Director, risk management issues and licensing.

Christopher Grosch, EMTP, has been promoted to Regional EMS Manager with oversight responsibilities for Akron, Cincinnati, Columbus, Mansfield and Youngstown.

Robert Norton, RN, EMTP, has been promoted to Manager of Clinical Operations.

Valerie Giustiniani has been promoted to Human Resources Manager.

In addition, the following staff members have been promoted:

  • Erika Petryka has been promoted to Administrative Assistant supporting Human Resources, Administration and Finance.
  • Marko Stojsavljevic has been promoted to IT Systems Administrator.

Premier Health and Safety Academy will be graduating the third EMT class in May, 2021 and soon after will be launching the first Paramedic class. The application process for national accreditation has been completed and we look forward to getting confirmation when classes can start.

Sincerely,

Michelle Martens, President
